The Partnership for Massachusetts is a non-partisan group of business organizations, entrepreneurs and thought leaders. We love the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We live and raise our children here. We attend our kids’ games and care about our communities. And we think it is a really good place to live when the economy is growing and when residents can lead the lives they want to lead.
Like your average Massachusetts citizen, we value the dignity of work, social mobility, and a robust free enterprise system that generates jobs and prosperity.
Government can be helpful. But sometimes the decisions our elected officials make run counter to what’s best for our people. Why else do we have so many regulations on small businesses—often regulations that big businesses don’t have? Why do we make it so hard and so costly to permit a business? Why do we have the best funded school systems in the nation and yet some insist that certain kids remain in failing schools? Why can’t we expand vocational education options in Massachusetts? Why can’t we know in advance what we spend on routine healthcare procedures? Why can’t we reform our public transit systems so that they run on time and without breakdowns?
We believe that all Massachusetts residents need access to exceptional opportunities in education, healthcare, transportation, and the economy.
That’s why we created the Partnership. Our mission is to advance policies that empower Massachusetts residents with the building blocks of economic opportunity. So that they can get jobs, and maybe even start their own businesses.
